About This Site

Bid on Equipment is an online marketplace for industrial equipment used in the food processing, chemical processing, pharmaceutical, personal care products, packaging and related industries. Buyers and sellers on this website are typically plant managers and purchasing directors of companies in those industries, as well as used machinery dealers.

Companies with surplus equipment to dispose of may list it on this site for no listing fee and may set an asking price and a reserve price. Companies needing equipment may bid for these listings.

Listings typically have a duration of 180 days (although this can be extended if the item does not sell).

Asking Price: The asking price is a "Buy-it-Now" price. The seller agrees to sell the item IMMEDIATELY to a bidder who bids this price.

Reserve Price: The reserve price is the minimum amount the seller will accept for the item. The seller agrees to sell the item to the high bidder UPON THE 180 DAY LISTING EXPIRATION if the bidding has reached or exceeded this price. The reserve price is not published but buyers can see whether or not is has been met.

Bidding on equipment: The minimum acceptable bid for items on this site is determined by a formula and is shown below the item description. Bidders may bid anything they wish above the minimum. There is no restriction against the current high bidder raising his bid.

Please take note of the following:

Sales are FOB. The seller is responsible for loading equipment onto the buyer's truck, unless otherwise noted.
Sales are subject to inspection. The buyer is given a reasonable amount of time after the acceptance of his bid to inspect the merchandise at the seller's location and may refuse it upon inspection.

Commissions: There are no fees for listing merchandise on this website. Sellers pay a 10% commission. Successful bidders pay a 10% buyer's premium. (There is a minimum commission and buyer's premium of $50 on small sales.) When a seller agrees to accept a bid, Bid on Equipment collects the bid price plus premium from the successful bidder and pays to the seller the bid price less commission.

David has been in the used processing and packaging equipment business since 1983. He is the second generation of his family to be in the machinery business, his father, Chuck Berman, having been the founder and long-time president of Madison Equipment Company.

Larry Lebedun, Vice President
Larry has been in the used processing and packaging equipment business since 1990 and has worked at Madison Equipment, Loeb Equipment and is the founder of Legend Machines Inc.
