Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) Pilot Plant
 
This FCC pilot plant features continuous circulation of fluid cracking catalyst and continuous flow and feedstock.  The oil feed is injected into the stream of hot flowing catalyst coming from the regenerator. The feed vaporizes on contacting the catalyst and flows with catalyst up the riser to the stripper vessel.  Catalytic cracking occurs in both the riser and stripper.

The pilot plant may be modified by installing one or two sizes of risers.  Riser lengths available include:  6 ft and 25 ft.  Any typical commercial fluid cracking catalyst can be used in this pilot plant. FCC catalysts normally have average particle sizes of 60-90 microns and bulk densities of 0.6-0.90 g/cc.

The design limitations allow operation at 100 psig up to 1200˚ F and at 50 psig up to 1400˚F.

This unit has been rigged out, and is being stored in a warehouse.
