”SPUTTERER” USED IN THE PROCESS OF VACUUM PLATING.  THE PROCESS HEATS A NUGGET OF GOLD, SILVER OR ALUMINUN IN A VACUUM.  THUS THE METAL GOES FROM A SOLID STATE DIRECTLY TO A VAPOR, DEPOSITING IT ONTO OBJECTS IN THE VACUUM CHAMBER. USED FOR PLATING PLASTIC KNOBS, JEWELRY AND MANY OTHER ITEMS.  THIS UNIT USES A 2200 WATT ANRC MODEL 0814 DIFUSION PUMP(SERIAL M0137) AND A WELCH DUO SEAL 1397 BACKER PUMP. THIS UNIT WAS IN SERVICE AND SEEMS TO BE IN FAIR CONDITION.
