Note: On cases with a square cross section, a corner cut or notch is required in one top and bottom flap to aid the erecting of the case. A sketch will be provided to show proper location.
DESCRIPTION OF OPERATION:
The product enters the infeed with the longest dimension parallel to travel. It is collated into the proper pack pattern and loaded into the case. The loaded case is indexed through the machine where the minor and major flaps are folded and hot melt sealed. The finished case is discharged onto the customer’s takeaway conveyor.
Simultaneously during the loading sequence, the machine, using vacuum cups, is automatically selecting a new blank from the magazine, opening and forming it. Other stations within the machine are performing their required functions.
Flat, knocked-down case blanks are manually stacked in a horizontal magazine. An attendant manually loads case blanks in the magazine and must be trained in the machine operation (turning the machine on and off, correcting stoppages, and properly restarting the machine)
