Applications include routine processing, such as sample pelleting, purifications, extractions, preparations, receptor binding, phase separations, and column centrifugations; processing large numbers of small-volume samples in multi-well plates for cloning and replicate studies, concentrating tissue-culture cells, receptor binding, in-vitro cytotoxicity studies, and genetic engineering experimentation; virus and/or cell isolation; rapid sedimentation of cell debris, protein precipitates, and large particles; preparation of subcellular organelles such as granules, mitochondria, and crude microsomes; and binding studies and separation of whole blood.
