When you need to accommodate growth in a fast-growing business or corporate department, the StorageTek SL500 modular library system helps you accelerate consolidation and support applications such as e-mail, databases, and file servers.

    The StorageTek SL500 scales from 30 to 575 LTO slots (or 24 to 494 mixed media slots), with a maximum capacity of more than 460 TB of uncompressed data, providing more than 30% greater capacity than other libraries in its class.

    If capacity is your most important issue, you can scale the StorageTek SL500 using Drive Expansion Modules (DEM) or Cartridge Expansion Modules (CEM), which give you the flexibility to scale using only cartridges.

    In addition, Any Cartridge Any Slot technology lets you use the drive types that best meet your needs, including StorageTek LTO, SDLT, and DLT-S4 tape drives.
