    Description

    AFCO Plant

The company commissioned its 1st line of production with 18000MT /year capacity in February 2006. The company expanded its capacity to 36000MT/year by setting up two more lines of small capacities. The company is using Exlan Technology from Japan and Fisipe technology from Spain to produce Dyed tow, fibre and tops through Gel dye route. A brief description of the plant and utility capacities is given below:

    Line 1 :
Line 1 is divided into two sections – Chemical and Textile sections.

Chemical section consists of Tank farm, Polymerization, Dope making and solvent recovery area. Acrylonitrile the main Raw material storage capacity in tank farm is for 30 days. Other co-monomer vinyl acetate and other chemical thio- glycol is stored in tank farm

Polymerization where acrylic polymer is produced using continuous suspension polymerization has the capacity of around 18,000 MT/ Year consisting of batch preparation system for catalyst and chemicals, high purity aluminum reactors, stripping column, polymer washing drum filter, pumps, Heat Exchangers and polymer storage tanks
Dope making where polymer and solvent sodium thio cyanate is mixed together to form dope solution has a capacity of around 18,000 MT/ Year. It consists of dope dissolver, plate and frame filtration system, heat exchangers, air removal column, centrifugal & screw pumps and storage tanks

Solvent recovery where solvent sodium thio cyanate is purified and concentrated from 17 % to 58 % has the capacity of around 18,000 MT . It consists of carbon columns, evaporator system, leaf filters, plate and frame filters, impurity removal gel filter column, pumps, heat exchangers and storage tanks

Textile section consists of Spinning, after treatment and product area. Spinning line 1 capacity is 18000 MT/ Year and was commissioned in 2006. Technology is from Japan Exlan and major equipments are supplied from Kawasaki heavy Industries, Japan. Dryers are from Wolverine Proctor & Schwarpz Ltd., UK and Gulchierani Baler is from Belgium.

Utilities consists of brine chillers, cooling towers, , raw water treatment plant, RO plant, de-ionized water plant, Air compressors, Effluent treatment plant. Utilities are sufficient to cater to 18000 MT /year of fibre production.

    Electrical and instrument items

Also the major electrical items in the plant are PLC’s, MCC’s, inverter panels, transformers, power control centers, LCB etc.

Major instrumentation items include Yokogawa DCS Centum CS 3000, control valves, Field instruments
