    An improvement on the traditional mortar and pestle, the Cryo Grinder tools retain the strength and durability of porcelain while adapting to the scale of molecular biology. The Cryo Grinder was specifically designed to grind small and difficult to homogenize tissues (e.g., skin, sclera) at cryogenic temperatures. Each Cryo Grinder mortar can efficiently accommodate up to 100 mg of sample, though most researchers use 10-20 mg. Pestles fit the cordless, rechargeable wrench (i.e., screwdriver),to ease the grinding process. When used in conjunction with the CryoCooler, the CryoGrinder is an effective means of homogenizing multiple samples.

    The CryoGrinder Set consists of two porcelain/zirconium mortars and four pestles. Samples can be homogenized manually by hand or by powering the pestles using a standard cordless screwdriver with a 1/4 hex bit(not included). The CryoGrinde mortar and pestle were specifically designed to grind small and difficult tissues at cryogenic temperatures. Their small design allows for retrieval of homogenized sample without excessive sample loss.
