The Agilent G1946B is a liquid chromatography / mass spectrometric detector for the Agilent 1100 series HPLC system. This is a benchtop quadrupole LC/MS module designed to provide results in a single chromatographic run when integrated into the HPLC system. It offers the dynamic range and reliability required for many quantitative applications including a mass range and accuracy of 2 to 3000 m/z and +/- 0.13 u (in calibrated scan mode), respectively. With this level of precision, the system is capable of identifying even large or modified proteins.

The G1946B model is an atmospheric pressure ionization (API) platform that is equipped to perform both electrospray ionization (ESI) as well as atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI). It is also capable of tolerating a standard HPLC flow rate of 1 mL per minute with minimal adjustment. This LC/MS detector is a highly sensitive and selective instrument, making it ideal for applications such as compound identification as well as purity investigations of chromatographic peaks and quantitation of trace level samples.
