    Description

Thermo Finnigan TSQ Quantum Ultra AM Mass Spectrometer System

***This unit was tested as far as we could. TSQ Vantage powers on and able to connect to software. (Electron Multiplier may need to be replaced). System will need to be validated/calibrated to ensure accurate results. Inquire about system validation for an additional cost. Unit has slight wear from normal use. (Ion source not included). See photos for details.

The Finnigan TSQ Quantum Series of mass spectrometers are the most advanced and powerful triple quadrupole mass spectrometers available. The Quantum Series mass spectrometers feature the patented HyperQuad mass analyzer technology, a rugged orthogonal source, and a completely redesigned analyzer geometry for maximum sensitivity, precision, and reliability. The Quantum Series triple quads are the only commercial triple quads available today capable of performing H-SRM. Thanks to H-SRM, co-eluters with nominal masses that vary by 0.1 amu are no longer interfering ions

Quantify with outstanding accuracy using the Thermo Scientific TSQ Quantum Ultratriple quadrupole mass spectrometer. Achieve outstanding sensitivity and specificity without sacrificing versatility. The TSQ Quantum Ultra system is available with optional extended mass range (EMR), accurate mass (AM), and high-field asymmetric waveform ion mobility spectrometry (FAIMS) capabilities to meet the demands of the widest range of applications.

    Sensitivity
Electrospray (HESI) at High Resolution 0.2 Da FWHM A 5 L injection of a 200 fg/L reserpine solution on a Hypersil GOLD aQ 20 X 2.1 mm 1.9 m particle packed column at a flow rate of 300 L/min 30:70:0.02 water/methanol/formic acid will produce a minimum signal-to-noise ratio of 3000:1 for the transition of the protonated molecule at m/z 609.3 to the fragment ion at m/z 195.1 when operated in selected reaction monitoring mode (SRM) with Q1 and Q3 resolution set to 0.2 and 0.7 Da FWHM respectively.

Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Ionization (APCI) and Atmospheric Pressure Photoionization (APPI) at High Resolution 0.2 Da FWHM A 5 L injection of a 200 fg/L reserpine solution on a Hypersil GOLD aQ 20 X 2.1 mm 1.9 m particle packed column at a flow rate of 300 L/min 30:70:0.02 water/methanol/formic acid will produce a minimum signal-to-noise ratio of 300:1 for the transition of the protonated molecule at m/z 609.3 to the fragment ion at m/z 195.1 when operated in selected reaction monitoring mode (SRM) with Q1 and Q3 resolution set to 0.2 and 0.7 Da FWHM respectively.

Mass Accuracy TSQ Quantum Ultra AM
Infusion of a mixture of polyethylene glycols (PEGs) of average molecular weights 200, 400, 600, and 1000 at 50 pmoles/L produces 27 ammoniated PEG ions from 124 to 1268 Da. Accurate mass data is generated on each of the 25 ions from 168 to 1224 Da using the neighboring peaks as internal lock masses. The mass of each ion is determined from the average of up to 100 scans and the error between the expected mass and the measured mass is expressed in mmu and ppm. The root mean square (RMS) average is computed from the errors of the 25 individual ions. The RMS error will be less than or equal to 5 ppm.

    Mass Range
    101500 Da(TSQ Quantum Ultra/Ultra AM)
    103000 Da(TSQ Quantum Ultra EMR)

    Resolution
7500 (FWHM) at m/z 508 of polytyrosine Resolution is continuously adjustable to better than 0.1 Da peak width (FWHM) across the entire mass range.

    Mass Stability
The laboratory room temperature must be maintained between 15-27C (59-81F).
The optimum temperature of operation is between 18-21C (65-70F).
