The Torqit is a cap retorquer that can be positioned conveniently following a capping machine or induction sealer. It is capable of achieving a speed of 90 BPT dependent on bottle sizes.
The existing caps are retorqued by a cap chuck which is driven by an electric motor. Separating this basic assembly is a slip clutch that is adjustable to achieve desired torque.
The containers are delivered to the Torqit via a conveyor, you would locate directly below the cap chuck by a gate system consisting of two stop fingers, a clamping module and a container detector.
Once container presence is detected the first gat extends, while the second gate retracts. This permits a bottle to pass under the torque head. At this point a second sensor located directly below the chuck detects the container and signals the PLC to activate the clamping module. This device holds the container in place and eliminates rotary slippage. The cap chuck, which is now rotating, will descend vertically down onto the existing cap producing the final torque. After having tightned the cap, the chuck returns to the upper position. Clamping pressure is removed, and the gate returns to the start position.
