The main components of this packaging line are as follows:
1. IMA Quikpik Pick and Place Robot
2. 2x Rontech Friction Feeders
3. IMA Flexa CLD Continuous Motion Cartoner
4. IMA CPV15 Case Packer
5. Weber 5300 Box Printer
This secondary packaging line is in pristine condition having been manufactured in 2013 and only operated for two years during 2014 and 2015. This line was originally packaging a nebulizer medication that recently received over-the-counter approval, causing the facility to cease operations and liquidate most of the machinery. Because of the common size carton this line utilized, it could easily be repurposed for packaging food, cosmetics, other small consumer items, or could continue operations in the pharmaceutical industry.
Being originally installed for pharmaceutical use, all machinery in the line is stainless steel and built for the highest level of cleanliness and ease of decontamination, and was maintained to the highest level of cleanliness. As visible in our videos and pictures, the machinery shows almost no signs of wear and is in almost perfect condition.
The line is currently tooled to insert a product into a carton with approximate dimensions of 2.25"x2.25"x6"
If the buyer is interested in using smaller or larger boxes, the main components of the line that will need retooling are the cartoner and the bucket-feeder conveyor. The OEM will need to be consulted for retooling of the Flexa CLD cartoner.
Fortunately, the CPV15 case packer does not require retooling to adjust box sizes and is easily adjusted within minutes.
Below are the minimum and maximum box sizes (WxHxL) that could be used on this line, as restricted by the Flexa CLD Cartoner.
Maximum: 90mm x 90mm x 220mm.
Minimum: 15mm x 12mm x 55mm
IMA, the line manufacturer, was helpful and forthcoming regarding the instrument details. Additionally, if the buyer prefers to contact IMA directly, there is a representative ready to help or we can get you in contact with the individual that helped us.
The process for the line is as follows:
(1) Product is carried by conveyor to feeding system.
(2) Feeding system carriers product to pick and place robot. (3) Robot picks up product and places it in bucket feeding rack.
(4) Bucket feeder carries product through Rontech friction feeders which place documentation on top of product.
(5) Feeder carries product into cartoner which places product into tuck box (non-glue box).
(6) Conveyor carries boxed product to case packer.
(7) case packer collates product and fills packaging container vertically.
(8) Upon exciting the case packer, boxes are carried by conveyor to pass a Wolke labeler to affix label to outside of box.
