    Description

    Giant 3d printer. Cartesian.

    Uses commercial filaments @1.75 mm.
    Tested with PLA.

    Build volume tested: L 1060 mm x W 635 mm x H 450 mm (L: 40" x W 25" x H 17.5") 

    Provides sketch-quality fused deposition. Can be used for 3d printing, rapid prototyping, including for design validation and shells for aeronautics, arts, architecture, design.

    This was used as a prototype for a larger construction machine. The steel frame was chosen for its strength, allowing for heavier tools or materials, as required. The design is modular so that components can be serviced and upgraded. The head is wired and equipped for heated plastic extrusion and 2 fans. It can be quickly retooled. Aluminum beds, optional. It isn’t CSA certified but the components are. The board is 32-bit DUET, with power supply of 24 v from 110.

    We are a machine-making company and can provide services for modifications. The machine is open-source and we're a horizontal cooperative: we encourage people who are interested in further developing this tech to get in touch.
