This is an industrial custom designed Ion Exchange (IX)
Systems suitable for use with up to 100 cubic feet of resin capacity (current
resin is a weak acid carboxylic exchange resin cation in the hydrogen form),
this is a complete skid mounted unit with the pH and ORP meters and vacuum
system used to convert the carbonate salt to carbonate gases, the exchange
columns having Alloy 20 internal distributors, Alloy 20 sulfuric acid metering system,
CPVC piping and automatic valves and PLC based automatic control systems with a
complete manual. This IX is capable of being programmed for any cycle for
any type of processing. This unit was custom designed to remove carbonate from
copper plating solutions. This unit was used for three months before the plant
shut down for good. This unit cost over $150,000.00 to be built.
