Rotary screw vacuum system, functional description: the Sullair vacuum system utilizes the rotary screw, single stage, positive displacement flood-lubricated type of vacuum unit. It provides a continuous (pulse-free) vacuum to meet the process needs.

Fluid is injected into the vacuum unit in large quantities where it mixes directly with the gas as the internal rotors turn drawing a vacuum. The fluid low has three basic functions: as a coolant; it seals the leakage paths between the rotors and stator and also between the rotors meshes; it acts as a lubrication film.
