Specification for Lochinvar® Chilled Water Buffer Tank

The CHILLED WATER BUFFER TANK shall be a Lochinvar Model, CFV300 with vertical construction having a capacity of 300 gallons. The tank shall be constructed with a built-in baffle to ensure adequate mixing of the fluid inside the tank.

The CHILLED WATER BUFFER TANK shall be constructed in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII requirements and stamped and registered with the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors. The tank shall be furnished with two 4" flanged connections, one ¾" air vent taping, one 1" relief valve tapping; and one 1" drain pipe.

The CHILLED WATER BUFFER TANK shall have a working pressure of 125 PSI and shall come equipped with a base ring for installing the buffer tank directly on a level surface. The CHILLED WATER BUFFER TANK shall carry a five year limited warranty against tank failure resulting from defects in materials or workmanship (see warranty for details).

The CHILLED WATER BUFFER TANK shall be primed and painted on external surfaces with a red oxide paint to resist external corrosion.

The CHILLED WATER BUFFER TANK shall require field installation of a high density insulation to meet the energy efficiency requirements of the latest edition of the ASHRAE 90.1 Standard.

OPTIONAL: CHILLED WATER BUFFER TANKS shall be factory equipped with a Spray Foam Insulation with UV Resistant Coating.
